Proven

Trusted material with centuries of industrial use in high-temperature environments

Superior Performance

Unmatched thermal conductivity, best-in-class heat capacity, and simple radiative heat transfer

Scalable

The fourth-most produced industrial material on Earth, at 1/10th the cost of Lithium-ion

Energy-Dense

Stores four times as much energy as electrochemical batteries with the same volume

HOW IT WORKS

  • 1

RAPID CHARGING WHEN ELECTRICITY IS CHEAP

Electricity is used to resistively heat the carbon blocks. Carbon's high thermal conductivity enables ultra-fast charging that rapidly soaks up the cheapest hours of electricity generation.

    2

    MULTI-DAY THERMAL STORAGE

The carbon blocks store energy at temperatures up to 2,400°C in a compact and modular system. These ultra-high temperatures enable our system to serve continuous industrial demand for days on end.

    3

    ALWAYS-ON INDUSTRIAL HEAT & POWER

At these glowing-hot temperatures, the carbon blocks transfer energy as light. This eliminates the need for complex and maintenance-intensive mechanical systems. Energy is discharged 24/7 as heat at the scale and temperatures that large industrial operations demand.

Heat-To-Power Technology

Antora’s thermophotovoltaic (TPV) technology converts light from the hot carbon blocks into electricity with no moving parts. This enables output of both electricity and heat at industrial scale.

MODULAR DESIGN TO SERVE LOADS OF ANY SIZE

Antora’s factory-made thermal batteries flexibly scale to match the energy needs of any industrial facility.
